Corrections, disputes and removals

Toronto Renovation Guide is a directory of renovation contractors in Greater Toronto Area, built from publicly available business information and scored on a single rubric applied to every company. Your listing scores come from Google reviews analyzed through this fixed method. Being listed here is free, and payment has no bearing on your score or ranking. This page explains how to request changes to your listing, challenge your score, or ask for removal. The full rubric is published under how we score.

Fixing factual information

Your business name, address, phone number, website, hours of operation, and service offerings can all be corrected. To fix any of these fields, provide the correct information along with something that verifies it, such as your business website or your Google Business Profile. Once applied, a correction stays in place through future data refreshes and is not overwritten by automatic updates.

Challenging your score

Scores are never hand-edited. If you believe your score is wrong, the claim must be that the underlying data is incorrect: your profile was matched to the wrong business, reviews were assigned to you that belong elsewhere, or a summary misrepresents what reviewers actually wrote. When you dispute a score, the original sources are checked again and your listing is regenerated from the corrected data. A dispute is not a request for a higher number; it is a claim about accuracy.

Removing your listing

Listings are removed if your business is permanently closed, if the listing is a duplicate of another entry, or if it falls outside the scope of this directory. The directory also re-verifies listings every month and removes closed businesses automatically when they are detected. A listing that is accurate and in scope may be declined for removal, and you will receive a clear explanation of why.

How quickly you hear back

Every request for a correction, dispute, or removal is acknowledged within 5 business days. Removals that are approved happen within 7 days. Requests that are declined come with the reason.
